Manuscript Approval Process: The Trimaxx GPS Submissions Specialist is going
to personally read your manuscript and assess the work for all of the essential
elements of a quality book. The
following assessment will be discussed with you once it is completed:
FICTION - Plot evaluation, character
development, dialogue structure and usage, conflict resolution, setting,
consistency, and finally, voice and flow.
NON-FICTION: We
will be evaluating the structure and organization, flow, the general
consistency of themes, as well as fact-checking for currency and credibility of
referenced citations.
As we promised – We are going to publish every book that
comes to us. However, if your manuscript
is not ready for the Editorial Process, you will receive a phone call to give
you a detailed report of the strengths and weaknesses of your manuscript, and
recommendations for improvement so you can resubmit quickly and successfully.
Questions to ask
yourself about your manuscript before you send it in:
Are there omitted significant
components or does it provide too much irrelevant detail and information?
Is it clear and concise, or are there any
parts that may be confusing to your reading audience even though they make perfect
sense to you?
Once your manuscript has been approved, you will be
asked to send the electronic copy (On Microsoft Office Word™ or Open Office™ a free program)
WHAT
YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE TRIMAXX GPS EDITORIAL STAFF:
The hardest part of writing and reading your
own manuscript – even for seasoned authors -
is that once you form your own work, it’s impossible to hold any type of
objectivity about the content. Staring at your own
creation, day in and day out over a long period of time, prevents you from
seeing mistakes, redundant errors, and structure flaws; and thwarts the ability
to step back to ascertain inconsistencies in any portion of the final product.
The Trimaxx GPS
Editors are all specialists and highly skilled in specific areas of the Editing
process.
While we do expect
the author to do a certain amount of editing on their own manuscript, we know
that it is difficult for any writer to look at their own work objectively.
Proofreading and Copy-edit: The
Proofreader will check
for all corrections of spelling, grammar, checking for repetitious wording, and
punctuation.
Editor: The Editor will do a more comprehensive edit to your
manuscript. This involves correcting inconsistencies
throughout the text, potentially confusing phrases or concepts, and awkward
sentence structure.
Sr. Editor: The entire manuscript will be proofed a
final time by the Sr. Editor. You will
receive a call to report any and all changes necessary to create a quality work
which flows in voice, style and ease of readability for your audience.
Graphic Design
Department: The
Graphic Design process for your book cover begins with the interior. This stage includes, creating the copyright
page, index pages, page numbers, and finally the formatting & layout of the
entire manuscript for the print process.
Why does the Graphic Designer do this? The final page count and word count will be
determined at this stage, and the size of the manuscript determines the size of
the cover, which must be exact.
The cover artwork will then be designed and back
cover copy added to create a dramatic presence of your work to the potential
reader. The designer will be in contact
with you for you to approve your cover art and the back cover copy before sending
the final project to the Publisher to review and then price your book.
Trimaxx GPS Publisher:
Pricing a book is an important step, but it must be according to the Publishing
industry standards. You can’t just pull a
price for a book out of thin air, or overcharge because you want to make a lot
of money; there are fair pricing regulations which must be upheld. Finally, the Publisher will submit the entire
project for the printing process.
Author Services: While we have done this many times, many of you
have not. We have studied, researched,
and understand the world of Publishing like no one else does.
The Trimaxx GPS staff will patiently and thoroughly
teach new writers the finer points of the writing process, and once your book
is printed, we will teach you how to market your books and give you the
motivation, tools and materials to be successful. You will be instructed as to how to get your
book copyrighted through the U.S. Copyright Office; how to set up signings,
interviews, and events: the intricacies of proper Author conduct; and much
more. All of this is a free &
exclusive service for Trimaxx GPS Authors. So, as you are patiently awaiting the arrival of
your first books, our staff will contact you to begin your training in the biggest part of the book
publishing industry, Marketing, Networking, and Promotions. Yes, writing the book was the easy part, now
it’s time to tell the world about it! But we’re including a systematic formula so
that you have all the time you need to write another book, and start the
publishing process all over again.
